Education at an Early Age

Children Education Mission One Case One Child

At ChefHandler, our mission is to seize educational opportunities for underprivileged children.

Education at an early age is imperative to a child's life for many reasons. A study done by the Annie E. Casey Foundation found that "67 percent of all children and 85 percent of children from low-income families who attend high-poverty schools are not prepared to meet “proficiency” standards on NAEP fourth grade reading tests" which concluded that "If children are not proficient readers by third grade, they struggle to catch up for years to come – and often never do. One in six children who are not proficient third-grade readers will not graduate from high school on time, a rate four times higher than that of proficient readers." Quality early education has an immediate impact on both the hard skills (Language, numeracy, higher cognitive thinking) and soft skills (social skills) that last a lifetime.

2. Concept of Cooperation/Sharing

4. Enthusiasm for Lifelong Learning: to make them feel that learning is fun and keep them interested for the rest of their lives!

5. Convey the Value of Education Through Experience: encouraging them to find educational value in everything they do, as well.

6. Respect

7. Teamwork: positively working and cooperating with others will benefit them in the long run in both social and educational environments

8. Resilience: the challenging environment of the classroom can instill a mindset to never give up!
